Korean is spoken by over 77 millon people. Korean is the official language of North Korea and South Korea. The writing system used in Korean is called the Hangul in South Korea.

In North Korea the writing sytem is called Choson Mal, Choson Kul or Choson Mun. Many Chinese words were borrowed by Korean and are sometimes written by using Chinese characters.

Korean words can be complicated and are usually written morphophonemically rather than phonemically.

Korean drama and music is becoming increasingly popular and itś great to understand the dramas without the use of subtitles.

Chinese and Japanese cultures have a great influence on Korea. Koreans believe in sincerity and loyalty. Some of the traditions include an ethical code of conduct in social life and showing respect towards elders and family.
