HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOURSELF?

Choosing A Career In 2019

So, you are now in upper school or just graduated from high school or university, enrolled in college , currently working, unemployed or  recently changed jobs, cool.

After all of that you are still  not sure what career you want to persue. Wow!  You better think carefully about it because this is a critical decision that will affect the rest of your life and the people around you.

Do a research on yourself , find out what defines you and what makes you happy. Then interview yourself, get to know yourself well.  Reflect on your childhood ,the things you enjoyed and continue to do the good things you enjoy.

Listen to what others say about you BUT do not just jump and believe the negative stuff, don't get depressed about it, instead find out the truth and improve yourself.

Find out about what you really want out of life or in life. Get to know your sense of purpose or what you are passionate about and make notes.

Stay focused on your core beliefs, values, dreams and goals. Make a list of all the things you would like to achieve.

Rather than folllowing the opinions of family, friends, neighbours , colleagues or peers try to find ways to determine how you feel personally about issues and priorities.

Surround yourself with people who have your best interest at heart who also allow you to grow.

ON YOUR JOURNEY TO GREATNESS

Don't let others determine your value and make you doubt yourself. Never limit yourself because of the limited imagination of others.

There are no limits to what you can accomplish , except the limits you place on your own thinking.

A negative mind will never give you a positive life. Don't ever change yourself for someone who does not appreciate you, find someone else who will.

A Champion is defined not only by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.

SUN PROTECTION

  • Protect your skin.  Limit the amount of direct sunlight you receive between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and wear sunscreen with a protection factor of at least 15.

It is very important to apply a sun protectant any time you go out in the sun . Especially before going swimming or participating in outdoor sports or activities.

Usually on product labels you will come across “SPF”, which means “Sun Protection Factor”, which represents  the estimated maximum “amount” of UV (Ultra Violet) radiation that the product can protect your skin from.

There are two basic types of Ultraviolet Rays that reach the earth’s surface:

1. UVB (UVB represents the Type B Ultraviolet ),which is the middle energy between the tanning rays UVA and the intense germicidal UVC.

2.  UVA  is the Type A Ultraviolet , which is nearest to visible light that causes tanning and aging of the skin.

UVA rays also play a role in skin cancer formation. In addition, the UVA rays penetrate more deeply into the skin and play a greater role in premature skin aging changes including wrinkle formation (photoaging).

There are approximately 500 times more UVA rays in sunlight than UVB rays. Continue..

THE REAL JAMAICA

The Real Jamaica

Jamaica is often referred to as the pearl of the Caribbean. It’s the third largest island this side of the Caribbean but with such a small size, it is a wonder that it’s reputation is so big.

If you’ve heard of Jamaica, Bob Marley is probably the reason, or the Cool Runnings Movie. Whatever the reason, and however much you know, if you have never been, it’s not enough. What do I mean it’s not enough?

Well, Jamaica is the product of a complex history of black resistance and colonialism *cue maroon spiritual* . This history has morphed into an interesting present, but an equally complex one where the seeds of the conflict have found a strange harmony.  Contnue...
